With 2025 H1 Zimbabwe's lithium exports surpassing 500, 000 metric tones, the lithium sector faces mounting pressure from strict EU regulations, global ESG standards and OEM compliance demands. Simultaneously, manual documentation and illicit leakages create operational bottlenecks that drain national revenue. Furthermore, opacity leaves local communities with minimal financial benefits.

We built Lithium Loop on Hyperledger Fabric, a permissioned blockchain framework designed for secure, high-performance and industry-level applications.
Hyperledger Fabric allows Lithium Loop to deliver verifiable traceability while maintaining the privacy, governance and control required in Zimbabwe’s lithium value chain.

UNDP Lithium Value Chain Award
Mator Design’s Lithium Loop project won the Lithium Value Chain Award at the UNDP Zimbabwe AI & Innovation Week 2025, earning a US$4,000 equity-free prize. We’ll use this support to scale up the platform, improve its capabilities and building tools that make the Zimbabwean lithium value chain transparent, ethical and community-focused.
